Sadolin Non-Drip Woodstain

Timber surfaces must be suitably prepared, clean, sound and dry. The moisture content should not exceed 18% prior to coating. Resinous deposits should be removed. Degrease any exposed bare timber surface by wiping with a cloth dampened with methylated spirits. “Knotting agents” should not be used with Sadolin® translucent woodstain systems. Fillers specifically designed for use with timber such as the Sadolin® woodfillers should be used for making good any minor surface defects, imperfections and open joints etc. General or All Purpose fillers are not suitable. Previously varnished surfaces should be stripped back and treated as new wood. Previously painted or woodstained surfaces: any mould or algal growth must be treated and removed using a suitable fungicide/algaecide. Any loose, flaking coating should be removed by use of a scraper or abrasive paper. Any grey denatured timber should be mechanically sanded back to a clean sound surface. Wash existing, sound coated surfaces with a mild detergent and rinse with clean water and lightly abrade to provide a key. Allow to fully dry. Wipe all exposed bare wood surfaces with a cloth dampened with methylated spirits. Only use non – ferrous screws, nails and fixings. Drying times are dependent upon absorption of substrate and drying conditions.
