Application Method
Ensure surfaces are sound, dry and free from grease, wax and oil. Use a suitable oil and grease remover to clean the surface if necessary. Remove all loose or defective paint back to a !rm edge. In the case of iron and steel, remove all loose scale and rust by thorough scraping and wire brushing. Leave new shiny galvanised metal to weather and become dull before priming with Armstead Trade Red Oxide Primer, or use a metal primer that is suitable for use on new galvanised metal. Dependent upon temperature & humidity. Stir thoroughly before use. Note: Special precautions should be taken during surface preparation of pre-1960s paint surfaces over wood and metal as they may contain harmful lead.
